State Representative Abel Herrero is now serving his ninth term proudly representing the people of District 34. Currently, Rep. Herrero serves as Chairman of the House Committee on Corrections and is a member of the House Committee on Licensing and Administrative Procedures.
Before his election to the Texas Legislature, Rep. Herrero served as a City Council member from 1999-2003 for Robstown, Texas. He received a bachelor's degree in political science from Texas A&M University in College Station and earned a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the University of Texas School of Law. Rep. Herrero has his own law practice in Corpus Christi, Texas. Abel and his wife Matilda have five children: Annalisa, Andrea, Abel Jr., Alexia, and Aliana.
District 34 covers western Nueces County including Robstown, Bishop, Driscoll, Banquete, Agua Dulce, Petronila, parts of Corpus Christi and Sandia.
